You have thoughts, but you are not your thoughts. You have emotions, but you are not your emotions. You have a body, but you are not your body. What's left?
Awareness. The unchanging witness that observes all experience without being touched by it.
The Discovery
Most people identify completely with their mind — its opinions, fears, and stories. They believe they are the voice in their head. But who is listening to that voice?
Awareness cannot be seen because it is what's doing the seeing. It cannot be known because it is what's doing the knowing.
Expanding
As awareness grows, identification with the small self loosens. Problems that seemed overwhelming become manageable. Reactions become responses. Chaos becomes clarity.
The breath is the bridge. Each conscious breath expands awareness, even if only slightly. Over time, slightly becomes significantly.
