Skepticism isn't cynicism. Cynicism assumes everything is false or corrupt. Skepticism simply asks for evidence before believing. One is a closing; the other is an opening.
In an age of manipulation, skepticism is survival.
Selective Skepticism
Most people are skeptical about the wrong things. They question alternative views while swallowing official narratives whole. Or they reject mainstream sources while believing anything that sounds rebellious.
True skepticism is applied equally. Question everything — including the things you want to believe, especially the things you want to believe.
Open Skepticism
The best skeptics remain open. They don't dismiss — they investigate. They hold conclusions loosely, ready to update when new evidence appears. They're comfortable saying "I don't know."
Conscious breathing supports this openness. It creates a pause where knee-jerk rejection can become genuine consideration.
